Does anyone know of a link to a free USB to RS232 adapter driver that is compatible with Windows Vista?

I recently purchased a Garmin eTrex and it came with a data transfer cord with a RS232 (DB9 or Serial port) connection, which I quickly found could not be connected to my computer. I ordered a USB to RS232 connector cable, but now I am unable to use this due a lack of a driver. I have been searching the internet all day and I can not find a driver that will be compatible with Windows Vista. Thanks.

The driver for the USB to RS232 adapter HAS to come from the adapter maker. It is different for each company.

Not all USB to RS232 adapters work with the Garmin units. Pfrank used to sell one but aparently only sells them through Garmin now.
The Garmin one is known to work.
