Sony Car Audio Player
I need to learn the basics about car audio.?
A few months ago my 3-year-old Pioneer stereo was stolen. A week and a half ago I finally brought myself to replace it…and then this morning I blew one of my stock speakers. So before I spend any more money, I want to understand what I need to purchase so I don’t keep doing this to myself.
I admittedly know -nothing- about car audio, so can someone give me the 60-second overview of how to know what size and output to look for in speakers, how these things work together, and whatever else I need to know?
Notes: I’m in a ‘99 Ford Contour and the new CD player is a Sony Xplod. I plan on sinking the least $$ necessary into this car, and I’m not looking to get earsplitting volume out of it–just want to be able to listen to stuff.
stick to name brands- if you bought pioneer head unit- then get pioneer door and rear speakers.. dont cheap out and get american bull-chit like i once did.. stay away from pyraimid plye legacy and fakes..
